for such a small town. wilmington is filled with talent. tons of good, local, national and international touring acts are lucky enough to call this little alcoholics haven home. among these is my personal favorite, thunderlip, who have been playing on again off again for several years now. last friday they were on again. as usual, a ton of fun. love these dudes. love this town.

headed out to the revenge run motorcycle rally at reggie's 42nd street tavern last saturday. tons of cool motorcycles. nc barbeque sandwiches. and good tunes from mountain thrower, white tiger and the bed of roses and the speed kings. it drew a big crowd. good times had.

went down to the soapbox last night for the rock the light benefit. killer turn out. both floors were packed. hoping they raised a lot of money. tons of bands. all super loud and super fast. highlight was white tiger and the bed of roses. always a good show. quickly becoming one of my favorites. very good times. let's do it again.

smith westerns.

went up to chapel hill last sunday 1.30.11. to catch some tunes from the smith westerns at the local 506. the boys (in the band) were young. extremely arrogant. looked like girls. a blatant marc bolan/t.rex rip off. that being said, it sounded f*cking great. killer guitar tones. sick hooks. and good fun w/ friends. worth the drive.

more rock shows visited and more on the horizon. after a perfect day of frigid surf last tuesday, went down to the soapbox to check out a rock and roll music show from the obits. super good tunes. they killed it. as did openers white tiger and the bed of roses and gentlemen jesse and his men. perfect ending to a perfect day.
