bing levitator.

9'8'' bing levitator.
this board noserides stupid easy. super wide. super flat. parallel. finely foiled. some of the design elements are beyond my comprehension. where as most nose riders have tons of concave in the nose to creat lift, this has almost none. how that works, i still don't entirely understand but ive never ridden a board that is this stable on the nose, even in sections you wouldn't normally stay up there. it also features a step deck which serves three functions 1) reducing swing weight for easier turning(turning is not this boards strong point) 2) nose flexes when nose riding to flatten out the rocker for speed 3) more maneuverability while on the nose.
i wanted a hoss of a longboard. i was thinking something closer to the 10' range. i was convinced otherwise after riding one of these. some of the boys were kind enough to let me ride their levitator of the same dimensions. after two or three waves i was sold. right up to the nose, no problems and barreling through sections in which most boards would not sustain lift. i ordered a custom to the exact dimensions of drake's board within the week. ive been super stoked on the board since. cure for the summertime blues.

ty segall. 5.19.12. kings, rdu.

shot up to raleigh weekend before last to catch a white fence, ty segall show at kings barcade. made a nice little get away of it. enjoyed the company of drew, sean, lisa, scotty all afternoon in raleigh before heading up to kings for what was easily the best show i've seen this year. we made our way up front and hugged the stage for the night. white fence was freaking phenomenal. wasn't as familiar with their stuff but have to say im a big fan now. they recently collaborated with ty segall on an album entitled hair, which was the focus of this tour. i was stoked to pick up a copy of the LP at the show. and just as bummed to realize i had left it in the cab after the show. the concert was rocking. everybody sounding great. some stage diving and crowd surfing, some cheap beer drinking and good socializing. 'i want to relive that moment' was the theme of the next day. it'd be safe to say a very good time was had by all. thanks for the tunes and rocking good times fellows.

terry martin.

it was a shame to hear that terry martin passed away the other day. a big loss for the surfing world. i am thankful that i had the opportunity to meet him last july. i will not pretend like i knew him, or knew him well. i will say that during our brief encounter he was warm, kind and possessed a sense of charm that seems to have been lost with most of my generation. rest in peace.
